Queens Captures 2018 SAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship
The Queens University of Charlotte Royals men's track and field team brought home its fourth consecutive SAC Championship.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Queens University of Charlotte captured the 2018 South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Men's Track and Field Championships on Friday (April 20) at the Irwin Belk Complex on the campus of Johnson c. Smith.
The Royals (240.5 points) finished first for the fourth consecutive season, while Wingate (171 points) took home second place and Lenoir-Rhyne (113 points) came in third place.
Queens' Martin Nauer was named both the SAC Men's Freshman and Field Athlete of the Year. Nauer won the shot put (55'10") and discus throw (157'0") and was runner-up in the javelin throw (175'9").
The Royal's Tom Bains also won the men's 10,000-meter run (31:07.19) and was second in the men's 5,000-meter run (14:45.65).
