The South Atlantic Conference Announces Men's Track & Field Preseason Poll and Watch List
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens has been selected to win the 2017 South Atlantic Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship as voted by the League's head coaches, the League announced today. The Royals received eight first-place votes for a total of 72 points from the panel.
Queens won the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship as it posted 145 team points at the Championship.
Wingate placed in second with 55 points. The Bulldogs finished third in last year's Championship with 140 points. Lenoir-Rhyne rounds out the top-three with one first-place vote and 50 points from the panel following a second-place finish at last year's tournament.
Carson-Newman opens the year at No. 4 with 46 points, while Anderson begins at the No. 5 spot with 45 points. Coming in at No. 6 is Coker after receiving 36 points followed by Mars Hill at No. 7 with 28 points. Lincoln Memorial places at the No. 8 spot with 21 points while Brevard rounds out the poll at the No. 9 spot with 11 points.
