C-N's Morrison and Anderson’s Farris Honored as SAC WePlayed Sports Men's Indoor T&F Athletes of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for meets contested during the fourth week of competition. Carson-Newman's Andre Morrison earned the track honor while Anderson's Tyler Farris garnered field accolades.
Morrison, a junior from Jamaica, set a new C-N record for the 60m running a 6.63, breaking 13-time All-American Devon Moore's record of 6.69. Morrison also ran the second-fastest 60m time in DII this season while also breaking the VMI facility record.
Farris, a junior from Dacula, Ga., set a new school record in the heptathlon at the Orange and Purple Invitational. Farris earned 4,283 points to finish as the top DII athlete in the event. The total is currently the highest in the SAC this season. He posted personal-best marks in four of the seven events.
