The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne's PJ Lotharp was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, while Tusculum's Guillaume Devries was named AstroTurf Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested January 7 through January 13, the Conference office announced today.
Lotharp, a junior from Indian Trail, N.C., posted an NCAA Division II provisional time in the 60m dash at the JDL January Kick-off. His time of 6.81 seconds was good enough for second place at the meet, but is now the fastest SAC time this season and is the seventh fastest time in NCAA Division II.
Devries, a junior from Valenciennes, France, was named the Men's Field Athlete of the Meet at the ETSU Invitational after he provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championship. He won the high jump with a height of 2.06 meters, which is now the second best jump in the SAC and the sixth highest jump in NCAA Division II.
This is Lotharp's second Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor this season, while this marks the first Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for Devries.
