Queens Earns Top Spot in 2019 SAC Men's Indoor Track and Field Preseason Coaches' Poll
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Queens University of Charlotte Royals have been picked as the favorites to win the 2019 South Atlantic Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship, according to the preseason coaches' poll released today.
The defending champions earned 110 points in the poll, including 10 of 11 first place votes.
Wingate University earned the second spot with 99 points, while Lenoir-Rhyne University placed third in the poll with 91 points, including one first place nod.
Carson-Newman University came in at No. 4 with 84 points, followed by Anderson University at No. 5 with 65 points and Tusculum University at No. 6 with 57 points.
Coker College took the No. 7 spot with 52 points, while Catawba College earned the No. 8 spot with 47 points. Lincoln Memorial University followed close at No. 9 with 45 points and Mars Hill University placed tenth with 38 points.
Newberry College rounded out the ranking at No. 11 with 27 points.
The 2019 SAC Indoor Track and Field Championships will take place on Feb. 23-24 at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. Below is a list of the top athletes to watch from each SAC institution.
