The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne's PJ Lotharp was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, and Wingate's Isaiah Kyle was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested November 26 through December 2, the Conference office announced today.
Lotharp, a junior from Indian Trail, N.C., took home first-place honors at the JDL FastTrack Early Bird Duals, winning the 60-meter dash with time of 6.87 seconds. His time was good enough to provisionally qualify him for the NCAA Division II National Championship.
Kyle, a senior from Morristown, Tenn., won the high jump at the JDL FastTrack Early Bird Duals, jumping a height of 2.20 meters. The jump was not only a new personal best for Kyle, but it was also the top mark in NCAA Division II and earned him an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division II National Championship.
The award is Lotharp's first Track Athlete of the Week honor this season, and it is Kyle's first Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
