Coker’s McElveen Jr. Named SAC AstroTurf Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Coker's Tony McElveen Jr. was tabbed the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, for meets contested Jan. 1 – 7, the League announced today.

McElveen Jr., a junior from Florance, tied his own previous, and school record in the 60-meter preliminary race with a time of 6.96, but broke it in the finals, setting the new record at 6.95. McElveen Jr. also competed in the 200-meter event placing second, running a 22.90 to finish runner-up, and good for third all-time in program history. The award is his first Track Athlete of the Week honor this season.
