South Atlantic Conference Announces Seeding for 2019 Men's Soccer Championship
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Carson-Newman Eagles and Queens Royals finished the 2019 South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer season with 21 points each in South Atlantic Conference play to earn a share of SAC Regular Season Championship. The Eagles finished the season with a 6-1-3 SAC record and won the tiebreaker with Royals, based on their 2-1 win on October 5, and will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Championship.
Queens earns the No. 2 seed in the championship, while Wingate earned the No. 3 seed after finishing the regular season with a record of 6-2-2 and 20 points. Tusculum finished with a record 5-3-2 in SAC play and 17 points to earn the No. 4 seed.
Anderson and Lincoln Memorial each finished with identical 5-4-1 records in conference play with 16 points. Anderson secured the No. 5 seed by virtue of its 2-1 win over LMU on Oct. 19, making the Railsplitters the No. 6 seed.
Newbery clinched the No. 7 seed with a record of 5-5 and 15 points in conference play, with Coker rounding out the field with the No. 8 seed also with a 5-5 record and 15 points. The Wolves won the tiebreaker with the Cobras thanks to a 2-1 win on Oct. 16.
The 2019 South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Championship quarterfinals will be played at campus sites on Saturday, Nov. 9 and Sunday, Nov. 10 before moving to Mecklenburg County Sportsplex at Mathews in Matthews, N.C. for the semifinals and finals on Nov. 15 and 17. The South Atlantic Conference's Tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament.
