Eight SAC Student-Athletes Named to D2CCA All-Southeast Region Men's Soccer Team
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Eight South Atlantic Conference student-athletes have been named to the 2018 Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-Southeast Region Men's Soccer Team. Lenoir-Rhyne led the SAC with three student-athletes among the selections.
The Bears had teammates Victor Cascon and Marcos Enriquez join one another on the first team, while Ignacio de Goya was recognized on the second team. Cascon earned second team distinction in 2017 as well. Cascon was the team's leading scorer with 10 goals, good for second in the SAC. Enriquez was honored as the SAC Defensive Player of the Year. De Goya was Lenoir-Rhyne's second-leading scorer with seven goals.
Queens collected accolades on both teams: Edmundo Robinson on the first and Pedro Oliveira on the second. Robinson earned SAC Offensive Player of the Year and led the Royals with 23 points (eight goals and seven assists). Oliveira aided in the team's six shutouts, while on the pitch for a team-high 1,557 minutes.
Lincoln Memorial also garnered a selection on both teams: Felipe de Sousa on the first and Victor Peres on the second. De Sousa dished out the most assists for the Railsplitters, seven times, while finding the back of the net twice. Peres was a threat offensively, scoring 12 goals and tallying three assists for 27 points.
Carson-Newman's Tobias Solem Karlsen led the Eagles offensively, contributing 10 goals and 22 points, amongst five game-winners.
