Six South Atlantic Conference Teams Collect Spots in United Soccer Coaches Men's Regional Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The United Soccer Coaches announced its ninth week of Division II men's soccer regional rankings on Tuesday (Oct. 30), with six teams representing the SAC in the southeast.
Holding steady at No. 4 once again is Lenoir-Rhyne. The Bears split their two matches of the week, defeating non-conference Shaw 5-3 and dropping the conference contest to Anderson 2-1. Josh Silent earned a hat trick against Shaw.
Queens University of Charlotte maintained the No. 5 spot in the southeast after blanking Mars 3-0. Two of the Royals' goals came off of penalty kicks.
Staying No. 7 is Carson-Newman after winning their conference match 2-1 over Catawba. Drew Bridge played a role in both of the scores, collecting a goal and an assist.
Lincoln Memorial maintains its No. 8 rank for the fourth week with scoreless draw at Newberry.
Wingate remained in the No. 9 position after defeating Coker 3-0. Elliot Cutts netted two of the goals.
Tusculum makes an appearance at No. 10 to round out the poll. The Pioneers were victorious at Lee 2-1 and rolled over Coker 6-0. Shawn Foster scored three goals in the course of the two matches.
South Atlantic Conference action continues tonight, Tuesday, October 30, as the SAC Tournament begins at campus sites.
