The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week
Tusculum attack Chris Ryan has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week and Queens long-stick midfielder David Byrne has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for games played Feb. 12-18, the League announced today.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Tusculum attack Chris Ryan has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week and Queens long-stick midfielder David Byrne has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for games played Feb. 12-18, the League announced today.
Ryan, a senior from Old Bridge, N.J., led the Pioneers to a 24-7 win over Shorter last week. He scored five goals with two assists for seven points, tying Tusculum's single-game point record. Ryan's five goals, also tied his single-game career high for goals. He also picked up four ground balls in the win.
Byrne, a sophomore from Victoria, British Columbia, helped lead the Royals to their first win of the season, as they defeated North Greenville 8-7. He anchored the defense that allowed just seven goals on 20 shots. Additionally, he scored two goals and picked up four ground balls.
This is the first Player of the Week honor for both Ryan and Byrne.
