Evansville, Ind. - The Queens University of Charlotte Royals run in the 2019 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Elite Eight came to an end on Wednesday (March 27) night. The Royals lost to Point Loma 87-74, closing out the 2019 season with a record of 31-5 overall.
South Atlantic Conference and D2CCA Southeast Region Player of the Year, Shaun Willett, led all Queens' scorers with 27 points and 11 boards. Also scoring in double figures were Daniel Carr, Lewis Diankulu and Kenny Dye. Carr netted 11 points, while Diankulu scored 10 points with six rebounds and Dye finished the night with 10 points and three boards.
Point Loma advances to face Southern Indiana in the national semifinals Thursday (March 28) at 9:30 p.m.
