The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lincoln Memorial guard Trevon Shaw has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 11 - 17, the League announced today.
Shaw, a senior from Helena Island, S.C., averaged 29.3 points per game as the Railsplitters went 3-0 last week. For the week he hit 63.3 percent from the field, 64.9 percent from three-point range and a perfect 100 percent from the free throw line. In LMU's multi-record setting 156-69 victory over Mars Hill on Dec. 11, he had a then-career high 35 points, including a school record 11-13 (84.6%) from three-point range. He also hit 85.7 percent of his shots. Two days later, he shot 58.3 percent from the field, and totaled 17 points, five rebounds and a steal in an 88-65 victory over Wingate on Dec. 13. He concluded his week by surpassing his own career record that he set five days earlier as he had 36 points, including 10 three-pointers. There he went 52.2% from the field and 55.6 percent from three-point range as the Railsplitters picked up a 98-94 win at Newberry on Dec. 16. The honor marks his first Player of the Week selection this season.
