Anderson’s Hash, Lenoir-Rhyne’s Hiatt Earn SAC Basketball Player of the Week Awards
Anderson guard Chandler Hash and Lenoir-Rhyne guard Jordan Hiatt have been selected as the SAC Basketball Players of the Week after leading their teams to a combined 4-1 record, the league office announced Monday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson guard Chandler Hash and Lenoir-Rhyne guard Jordan Hiatt have been selected as the SAC Basketball Players of the Week after leading their teams to a combined 4-1 record, the league office announced Monday.
Hash averaged 18 points as defending the SAC-champion Anderson men opened up conference play with wins over Lenoir-Rhyne and Catawba. He scored 12 points Friday against L-R, then poured in a career-high 24 versus Catawba on Saturday.
The junior shot an impressive 70.6-percent from the field in the two games, including 7-of-10 on three pointers. He also added three steals on the week.
Hash currently ranks second in the SAC in three-point shooting at 53.8-percent.
Hiatt, meanwhile, led the Lenoir-Rhyne women to a 2-1 record last week by averaging 13.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists. Her top performance of the week came on Thursday against Winston-Salem, where the freshman scored 19 points on an efficient 7-of-8 shooting from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 from the foul line.
She also reached double-digit scoring on Saturday in a win over North Georgia, finishing with 12.
Hiatt recorded six steals in the three games and had an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.6.
Her 2.0 assist-to-turnover ratio this season is the SAC's third best.
