South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Announces AstroTurf Field Hockey Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – South Atlantic Conference Carolinas announced its AstroTurf Field Hockey Players of the Week for matches played during the week of Oct. 1 through Oct. 7. Queens' Karla Von ehren was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Limestone's Madison Hill was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Von ehren, a freshman midfielder from Hamburg, Germany, led the Royals to a 1-1 record last week, including a 6-3 win over Coker in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas action. She recorded a hat trick in the win over the Cobras, keeping the Royals undefeated in conference play. She added an assist to her offensive efforts in the Coker game to finish with seven points for the week. This is the second Offensive Player of the Week honor for Von ehren.
Hill, a senior defender from Ipswich, Mass., helped led the Saints to a 2-1 win over Newberry in conference action last week. She anchored a defense that allowed just four shots, only two of which were on goal, and held the Wolves scoreless for more than 65 minutes of action. This Hill's first Defensive Player of the Week award this season.
