Lenoir-Rhyne's Dugger Named D2Football.com National Special Teams Player of the Week
KANSAS CITY, MO – On Wednesday (Oct. 10) D2Football.com announced its National Players of the Week and Lenoir-Rhyne's Kyle Dugger was selected as Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 1-7.
Dugger became the first player in Lenoir-Rhyne history to return two punts for a touchdown in a single game as the Bears defeated Newberry 34-21 to stay undefeated in SAC play. His first came midway through the second quarter as he scampered 69 yards to tie the game at 14. He then tied the game at 21 with a 64-yard return in the third quarter, which started a 20-0 run for the Bears. In all, he had three returns for 157 yards, averaging 52.3 yards per return with two touchdowns.
He was also named SAC player of the week. This is Dugger's first national player of the week award this season.
