Four SAC Student-Athletes Named to Google Cloud Academic All-America® Baseball Team
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Four South Atlantic Conference student-athletes have been named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II Baseball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The Division II Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2017-18 Division II Academic All-America® teams.
Headlining the SAC selections are First Team picks Ty Andrus from Wingate and Ben Herring of Newberry. Herring is one of six repeat performers, earning Academic All-America® honors last season as well.
Also, earning All-America® honors were Carson-Newman's Dillon Cate, who was a second team selection, and Coker's Connor Cleary, who was a third team selection.
Twenty of the 33 members of the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II Baseball teams have at least a 3.90 GPA, with nine student-athletes maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA. The 11 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.88.
