Wingate and Lincoln Memorial Ranked in NCAA Southeast Region Baseball Poll
The Wingate University and Lincoln Memorial University baseball teams earned spots in the latest NCAA Southeast Region Baseball poll, which was released by the NCAA on Wednesday (May 2).
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Wingate University and Lincoln Memorial University baseball teams earned spots in the latest NCAA Southeast Region Baseball poll, which was released by the NCAA on Wednesday (May 2). The Bulldogs earned the No. 7 spot in the poll, followed by the Railsplitters at the No. 9 spot.
Wingate finished the regular season with a record of 34-17, while LMU finished the regular season with a record of 34-18.
The Railsplitters earned the South Atlantic Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Southeast Regional by winning the Pilot/Flying J SAC Baseball Championship on Monday (April 30).
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Baseball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections on Sunday, May 13.
