Limestone Men's Tennis Falls to Newberry

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Limestone College men's tennis team hosted non-conference opponent Newberry College and dropped the non-conference decision by a match score of 6-3 on Tuesday afternoon at the Emmie Evans Rector Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Wolves took an early 2-1 lead after winning at the second and third doubles spots. Soares and Garnier kept the Saints in the match after defeating their Newberry opponent, 8-4 at first doubles.
 
The Blue and Gold battled the Wolves as four singles matches were forced into a third-set decision. Despite efforts from the Saints, Newberry was able to win three-of-four of those matches to give the Wolves the match victory. The Saints were able to win one more match on the afternoon at fifth singles to finalize the match score at 6-3.
 
 
UP NEXT
The Saints return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 22 when they travel to Aiken, S.C. to face the University of South Carolina Aiken. The non-conference match is set to begin at 2 p.m.
