HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half

Limestone held a 5-0 advantage in shots attempted over the first 30 minutes of play with sophomore Luca Thuyl (Xanten, Germany) having the best looks at frame in the early going. His shot in the 14th minute was pulled in by the keeper before a close-range attempt in the 30th minute sailed just high.

The Blue and Gold busted through with the go-ahead score in the 35th minute after Ney collected a loose ball in the box, beat the keeper to the far post, and then planted his first career goal across the mouth of the frame. Limestone outpaced the Lions 7-0 in shots attempted in the opening half.

Second Half

The Saints extended the margin to 2-0 in the 51st minute as Croskery tucked the rock inside the far post off a nice cross by Ney from the right wing. A few moments later, Tapuskovic staked Limestone to a 3-0 advantage with a solid boot from the right side of the box into the top left corner.

TURNING POINT

Limestone knocked on the door several times over the first 30 minutes before finally breaking through with the game-winner in the 35th minute on a goal by Ney.
