GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Jeremy Glore went 3-for-5 and scored four runs in Tusculum's 16-8 victory over visiting Trevecca Nazarene Wednesday afternoon at Pioneer Park.

The Pioneers (10-8) erupted for four runs in the sixth inning to break 6-6 tie and added a run in the seventh and five more in the eighth as TC scores over 15 runs for a second time in the last four days.

Dante Key went 2-for-4 with four RBI, including his two-run single which highlighted the Tusculum sixth inning.

Tusculum redshirt freshman Andrew Willis recorded his first collegiate win as he pitched 2.2 shutout innings with a strikeout.  The Trojans plated two runs in the top of the sixth to tie the game at 6-6 and had the go-ahead run at third base with one out when Willis entered the game.  On his third pitch, TNU's Griffin Ganick grounded sharply to third baseman John Topoleski who was playing close to the foul line.  In one motion, Topoleski tagged out the runner who was off the third bag and threw over to first in time to complete the inning-ending double play.

In the bottom of the sixth, Glore and Colby Skeen reached on back-to-back one-out singles.  A walk to Nick Lacina loaded the bases and all three would move up a base on a wild pitch as Glore scored the go-ahead run.  John Topoleski was hit by a pitch to load the bases again as Key followed with his base hit to right field to bring home Skeen and Lacina.  Daulton Martin followed with a RBI single to give TC a 10-6 lead.

Lacina singled in Glore in the seventh, before the Pioneers tacked on five more in the eighth to put the game out of reach.

The Trojans (4-10) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning as TNU's Bryson Shelton hit a two-run single to bring home a pair of unearned runs against TC starter Eamonn Collins.

Tusculum answered with four unearned runs in the bottom of the frame, thanks to a two-run single by Key, a RBI triple from Martin and a pair of Trojan errors.

The Trojans scored a run in the top of the second, while the Pioneers plated two runs in the bottom of the frame as TC led 6-3.  The Trojans added a run in the fourth inning on a Patrick Reed RBI double.  The score would remain 6-4 until the TNU sixth when the visitors scored two unearned run to the tie the game.

The Pioneers finished with 13 hits, including two each by Skeen, Lacina and Martin.  The Trojans accounted for nine hits, including Shelton's 3-for-5 day, while Gannick added two hits in the loss.

TNU reliever Cameron Grogan suffered the loss as he came on in relief in the sixth as he was one of eight Trojan pitchers who saw action on the afternoon.

Tusculum will host Newberry on Friday night at 6 p.m. to begin a three-game South Atlantic Conference series against the Wolves.
