JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman wins three out of four matches in doubles action on day one of the Eagle Invitational.
Carson-Newman 1, Tusculum 1
Natasha Forrest and Summer Reeves paired up in the number one spot for the Eagles. The pair took down Tusculum's Leonie Floeth and Paulina Loretz in an 8-2 match.
Julia Speiser and Violetta Khisamova paired up for the Eagles in the number two spot. The Eagles fell to Tusculum's Johanna Palacio and Valentina Loretz in an 8-4 match.
The Eagles will take on the Pioneers in singles, beginning at 2:30 P.M. on Sunday.
Carson-Newman 2, University of Cumberlands 0
Speiser joins Forrest in the number-one spot for the Eagles in the second pair of matches on the day. The duo took down the Patriots in an 8-4 victory.
Anita Chornei saw her first action in the Eagle Invitational when she matched up with Forrest in the number two spot. The pair took down the Patriots 8-4.
Carson-Newman will begin singles action on Sunday when they face the University of Cumberlands at 9:00 A.M.
