ANDERSON, S.C. – The Limestone College baseball team dropped a pair of nonconference games at Anderson University, falling by a final of 9-4 in game one before coming up on the wrong end of a 6-1 decision on Monday, April 16 at Memorial Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Trojans used a two-run homerun in the bottom of the first to grab an early advantage, but Limestone countered with a pair of runs in the second to tie things up. Banks crushed a leadoff homerun to cut the deficit in half, 2-1, before Etheridge pulled the Saints even with an RBI groundout a few batters later.
Anderson moved back in front, 4-2, on a two-run bomb in the third before adding two more markers in the fourth. Piazza then launched his 33
rd career homerun in the fifth, a two-run shot that cut Limestone's deficit to two, but the Trojans tallied three runs in the bottom of the frame to pull away for a 9-4 decision.

- He would take the loss, surrendering six runs on seven hits and four walks
HOW IT HAPPENED
Etheridge, making just his second career start as a pitcher, registered four strikeouts over the first two innings of work, but the Trojans would push across a run in the second to take a 1-0 lead. Limestone did not record its first base hit of the game until Creps singled with one out in the top of the fifth.
Anderson opened things up in the home half of the fifth, extending the lead to 6-0 as a grand slam highlighted a five-run frame. The Saints broke up the shutout in their final at-bat as a double by Mack scored on an RBI single by Staab, but the Trojans would have more than enough for the 6-1 decision.
