HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half
Queens put the first points on the board after a foul from Limestone gave the Royals a free position opportunity that Queens capitalized on at the 25:21 minute mark. Limestone retaliated with back-to-back goals just two minutes later to tie the score and put the Saints out ahead 2-1. After a couple of minutes of back and forth action, Lafler added a goal in favor of the Saints with 17:54 on the clock.

The Royals cut the Limestone lead to 3-2 on their next possession before Limestone answered back with another goal to make the score 4-2. Queens got within one point once more before a goal from freshman midfielder Lauren Chong (Ontario, Canada) put the Saints out ahead 5-3 to end the half.

Second Half
The Royals came out of the break firing on all cylinders as Queens scored three consecutive goals in the first five minutes of play to take a 6-5 lead. The Saints kept battling and evened the score on their next possession, 6-6. Queens answered right back with two goals of its own to make some breathing room for the Royals, 8-6.

The Blue and Gold took advantage of a free position and a man-up opportunity to score the next two points to knot the scoreboard once again, this time at 8-8. The Royals controlled the next several minutes of play and strung together back-to-back goals to take a 10-8 lead with less than 15 minutes left in regulation. The Limestone defense held the Royals from scoring the rest of the game as the Saints scored the final three goals to tie the game and take the 11-10 lead at the 1:15 minute mark. As time ran down, the Limestone defense caused a crucial turnover to seal the 11-10 victory in favor of the home team.
