Trojans Lead Wire-to-Wire in Triumph over Mars Hill; 72-42

MARS HILL, N.C. – The Anderson University women's basketball team led South Atlantic Conference opponent Mars Hill wire-to-wire in route to a, 72-42, road victory on Wednesday evening in Mars Hill, N.C.

With the win, Anderson improves to 17-8 overall and 11-6 in conference action while Mars Hill drops to 1-24 overall and 0-17 in SAC play.

Anderson placed two players in double-figures with all 14 Trojans logging minutes in the 30-point victory. Junior Ace Easter and sophomore Alexy Mollenhauer shared team-high honors scoring 13 points apiece.

Sophomore Madison Baggett chipped in nine points, dished out seven assists and pulled down five rebounds. Senior Jasmine Raynor scored six points on 3-of-5 shooting. Raynor grabbed four rebounds, dished out three assists and was credited with a steal. Junior Erika Martin ripped down a team-high eight rebounds in just 15 minutes of action.

Mars Hill placed two players in double-figures with Cierra Hampton recording a double-double (11 pts, 10 rbs). Valeriya Pokrovskaya chipped in 10 points for the Lions. On the boards, Jewel Walston pulled down 10 rebounds while adding eight points to her stat-line.

Anderson led wire-to-wire using a 17-0 run to begin the game to propel them to victory.

-AU's Dillard is 17 rebounds shy of becoming Anderson all-time career leader in total rebounds.

-The first NCAA Regional Rankings were released late this afternoon with Anderson claiming the seventh spot.
