BOWIE, Md. – Bowie State University women's basketball made its home debut on Saturday evening and came away with a 66-58 victory over visiting Catawba College. The victory was the straight as the Bulldogs improve to 3-0 on the season.

Ty-Nita Baker (Houston, Miss.) came of the Bulldogs' bench to lead the home team with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field, which included 5-of-7 free throws. Redshirt junior

Kyah Proctor (Capital Heights, Md.) chipped in 14 and 10 points respectively in the win.

Sade Chatman (Minneapolis, Minn.) added seven points to go along with six rebounds, a pair of blocks and one steal. Sophomore

Lisa Jing (Laurel, Md.) rounded out Bowie State's scorers with five and three points respectively.
Both teams struggled shooting from the field as Bowie State shot 32.7 percent (18-of-55) compared to 38.6 percent (22-of-57) for the Catawba Lady Indians. Catawba controlled the glass, out-rebounding the Bulldogs by a whopping 48-25 margin.
The Lady Indians had two players record a double-double as Terri Rogers tallied 20 points and 11 rebounds and Marshauna Butler was responsible for 11 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. Serena Brown also scored in double figures, contributing 11 points to go along with five assists.
Bowie State led 17-10 after one quarter of action but carried a slim 30-27 lead into halftime. The Bulldogs outscored the Lady Indians 22-17 in the third and the two teams played even at 14-all in the final quarter.
The Bulldogs will make a trip North on Monday (11/20) to take on Wilmington (Del.) University at 6 p.m.
