ANDERSON, S.C. – The Limestone College men's basketball team outscored the Trojans 49-31 in the second half to defeat non-conference opponent Anderson (S.C.) University, 80-71, on Wednesday evening at the Abney Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
Both teams traded points before the Saints used back-to-back buckets to make some space at 12-8. The Saints and the Trojans battled back and forth as the score was knotted on three occasions, the final time coming at 21-all with 10:06 left in the period.
The Trojans shifted the momentum on its next possession after connecting on four straight points to steal the lead, 25-21. The Saints worked to close the gap but the Trojans kept pouring on the points and built an 11-point lead, 40-29, at the 2:19 minute mark. In the final minutes of the half, the Saints outscored the Trojans 2-0 to cut the difference to nine points, 40-31, at the break.
Second Half
Limestone came out of the locker rooms firing on all cylinders as the Saints outscored the Trojans 13-3 in the first four minutes to regain the lead, 44-43. Play teeter-tottered back and forth as the scoreboard saw seven lead changes before the Saints put together eight unanswered points to take a 61-53 advantage.
The Trojans worked to chip away at the difference to get within three points, 62-59 with 6:14 left in regulation. The Saints used the next couple of minutes to put five more points on the board to extend the lead, 67-59. Anderson wouldn't go away easily as the Trojans got within three points on one occasion, 71-68, but the Saints held the Trojans off as Limestone defeated Anderson 80-71.
