Trojans Team Effort Stymies Bearcats; 81-75

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University women's basketball team poured in 26 points in the opening quarter to jumpstart the Trojans to an in region nonconference victory over Lander, 81-75, on Saturday afternoon at the Abney Athletic Center.

With the victory, the Trojans move to 6-2 overall while the Bearcats drop to 4-4 overall.

  • The Trojans shot 9-of-12 (69.2%) from the field and 5-of-6 (83.3%) from behind the arc to open the first quarter of action
  • Anderson led for 37:56 while pushing its largest lead of the game to 18 in the second period

  • Junior Alexy Mollenhauer scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Mollenhauer also added two assits
  • Senior Ace Easter dropped in 18 points while grabbing seven rebounds. Easter scored nine points in the third frame
  • Junior Cassie Ketchum set the tone in the first quarter draining three 3-point baskets on her way to scoring 15 points, one shy of her career high
  • Senior Erika Martin scored 11 points on 3-of-3 shooting from the floor and dropping in 5-of-6 foul shots. Martin also pulled down five rebounds and dished out two assists
  • Junior Madison Baggett chipped in 11 points, grabbed five rebounds while dishing out six assists
