HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half

The Mountain Lions came out of the gates aggressive, recording their first shot 26 ticks into the contest before planting the go-ahead score just one minute into play. Limestone looked to find the equalizer off corners but attempts by Radoki and Drechsler in the 8th and 10th minutes, respectively, both sailed wide.

The Saints had their best opportunity when de Laaf worked around the YHC defense and got off a shot from just outside the box. However, it was right at the keeper, and Young Harris capitalized on the counterattack, earning a corner kick that resulted in a score to give the home team a 2-0 lead in the 21st minute. The Mountain Lions added another score a few minutes later to make it a 3-0 match at the half.

Second Half

Young Harris also started the second half aggressively with a shot on frame just 39 seconds into the period. Hipper made the save, however, and Limestone flipped the field to the attack, leading to a foul by the Mountain Lions inside the box. Fabricio then planted the resulting penalty kick to cut the lead to 3-1.

The Saints could not find many openings to pull any closer as attempts on goal by Ortiz and Drechsler off a corner were both hauled in by the keeper. Including those two looks at frame, Limestone only managed a total of three shot attempts over the final 30 minutes of play as Young Harris held on for a 3-1 decision.

TURNING POINT

The Mountain Lions took control of the match early, scoring the go-ahead goal just 60 seconds into the match before adding the eventual game-winner in the 21st minute. Young Harris tacked on an insurance goal in the 28th minute while limiting Limestone to a single score on a penalty kick the rest of the way.
