CHARLOTTE, N.C.  – The Limestone College men's basketball team fell to No.  15 Lincoln Memorial University by a final score of 70-64 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday evening at the Levine Center.

• Redshirt-senior guard Shaq Dance (Garner, N.C.) led the Saints with 26 points, eight boards, three assists and one block.
• Redshirt-senior Shaun Stewart (Indian Trail, N.C.) added 16 points.
• Junior forward Macoumba Kane (Dakar, Senegal) also recorded double-digit points with 10.
• Limestone shot 37.5 percent from the field (24-of-64) and 52.6 percent from the free-throw line (10-of-19).

 
HOW IT HAPPENED
 
First Half
Limestone put the first two points on the board to take the early 2-0 lead over the Railsplitters. The Saints kept the slim lead until Lincoln Memorial put back-to-back buckets together to take a 6-5 lead at the 16:18 minute mark. Limestone regained the lead on its next possession and kept ahead of LMU until a 5-0 run from the Railsplitters put Lincoln Memorial ahead, 18-14.
 
The Blue and Gold used the next couple of minutes to score eight consecutive points to go back out ahead 22-18 with 7:25 left in the first period. Lincoln Memorial started chipping away at the Limestone lead and outscored the Saints 8-3 to take a 26-25 lead at the 4:22 minute mark. In the final minutes of the half, both teams scored eight points to give Lincoln Memorial the 34-33 advantage headed into the break.
 
Second Half
Both teams struggled to find the basket as the first three and a half minutes saw no score before both teams traded layups to keep the Saints within one point, 36-35 at the 16:12 minute mark. Limestone and Lincoln Memorial traded triples before the Saints found some breathing room with 10 straight points to take a 48-39 lead at the 13:00 minute mark.
 
LMU stopped the Limestone momentum with back-to-back three-pointers to cut the Limestone lead to 48-45 at the 11:58 minute mark. After a short lag in the action, LMU regained the lead for a short time before a 9-0 run from the Blue and Gold gave Limestone the 57-49 advantage at the 7:04 minute mark. The Railsplitters kept chipping away at the Limestone lead and tied the game at 62-all with 2:09 left in regulation. In the final minutes of play, Lincoln Memorial outscored Limestone 8-2 to come-from-behind to take the game, 70-64.
