ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference Athletic Trainers Committee has selected Queens University of Charlotte's staff as the 2017-18 Athletic Training Staff of the Year, the League announced today.
"Congratulations to the entire Queens athletic training staff," said South Atlantic Conference Commissioner Patrick Britz. "To receive this type of award from your peers, speak volumes to the dedication and passion, that not only Queens' staff possesses, but all of the athletic trainers in the conference. We are extremely grateful for the hard work and effort they all put forward everyday to ensue the health and safety of the student-athletes."
Led by Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Performance Brandon Johnson, the Royals' athletic training staff features eight full-time, certified athletic trainers.
"It is an honor to be recognized by the SAC," said Johnson. "Queens Sports Medicine has worked extremely hard to connect with colleagues and provide a great experience to athletes when they are at Queens."
The award is voted on by the South Atlantic Conference Athletic Trainers Committee. This is the first time that the Queens' staff has won this award.
