Jonathan Glass Named South Atlantic Conference Strategic Communications Coordinator
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference has named Jonathan Glass as its Strategic Communications Coordinator, the League announced today. Glass is a native of Clearwater, Fla. and a 2016 graduate of Florida Southern College.
"We are thrilled to add Jonathan to our staff for this academic year," said South Atlantic Conference Commissioner Patrick Britz. "His background, experience and skill set will be an asset to the SAC and help our office continue to serve our member institutions to help make the student-athlete experience the best it can be."
Glass spent the last year as an intern with the Atlantic 10 Conference. Glass was a member of the A-10's championships staff and assisted with host site and conference preparations for the Atlantic 10's 21 championships. He also provided on-site championship support at various events for the Atlantic 10.
"I want to thank Commissioner Britz and the South Atlantic Conference for giving me the chance to further grow my experiences within college athletics," Glass noted. "I am extremely excited to join the SAC and can't wait to help showcase these wonderful Student-Athletes as they strive for greatness in all that they do."
Prior to his internship with the Atlantic 10, Glass spent a year at the Sunshine State Conference in the League's media relations department. He was responsible for managing the Sunshine State Conference's social media initiatives and created graphics for both print and web. He also assisted in the media relations efforts for men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, swimming, lacrosse and golf.
During his time at Florida Southern, Glass interned in the school's athletic media relations office where he wrote student-athlete bios and assisted with game day preparation. He managed scoreboards at various athletic events and kept the official book for home men's and women's soccer games. Glass also worked the NCAA D-II Men's Basketball South Regional in 2014 and 2015 that were hosted by Florida Southern.
Glass resides in Rock Hill, S.C.
