Amelia Maher joined the SAC staff as the Director of External Operations and Administration in July 2018.

Maher is charged with maintaining and monitoring day-to-day business operations of the SAC office, in addition to serving as the office manager and assisting with compliance and championships.  She will coordinate and process payments of officials, as well as administer the League's National Letters of Intent and medical hardship waivers.  She will also serve as the director of the South Atlantic Conference tennis championship and will assist in the marketing and promotion efforts of the SAC.

Prior to her time at the SAC she spent the 2017-18 school year at Conference Carolinas as the Conference Officer. Before joining the Conference Carolinas staff, Maher completed a two-year graduate assistantship with the University of Mary track and field team in Bismarck, North Dakota, coaching the high jump and combined event athletes.  While there, she interned with several athletic department staff members and gained experience in game day set-up and management, compliance, and development and fundraising as well as worked with the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

A former captain for the University of Minnesota Duluth track and field team, Maher was a four-time Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference champion (three times in the high jump and once in the pentathlon), numerous-time All-Conference athlete, and the 2015 NSIC Outdoor Conference top point scorer. She qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in 2014 (distance medley relay and pentathlon) and NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2015 (heptathlon and high jump).
